National Focal Points

The GEF CReW National Focal Points (NFPs) are appointed by the respective governments of the participating countries. They are the key local points of interaction for the Project Coordinating Group (PCG).

What are the responsibilities of the NFPs?

Under the GEF CReW Project, the NFP’s responsibilities include:

  • being the first local point of contact in the PCG’s dealings with each PC;
  • championing and promoting the CReW to the national stakeholders and community;
  • liaising with the Project Executing Agencies and the Project Management Units in pilot countries;
  • co-ordinating feedback from relevant agencies for the baseline surveys.

What is the CReW?

The CReW is a four-year project that began in 2011. It is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
